NIDA's exciting idea for your little Musical star's holiday activity:

Work with a NIDA music theatre expert to create a short song and story presentation for stage! This is a great way to introduce yourself to the magic of music theatre and find out just what it takes to become a music theatre star! Present your song and story presentation to family and friends at the end of the course.

The Musical Theatre Boot Camp for grades 7-10 takes place over two days:

  • Thursday/Friday April 26th - 27th 2018 10am-4pm

Course components

  • Voice and Song: Learn how the voice works, develop confidence with singing technique and performance.
  • Creative Expression: Participate in fun and engaging acting exercises to develop new creative ideas with others.
  • Text interpretation: Bring to life through the application of acting technique a musical theatre song text.
  • Staging: Consider staging techniques and learn musical performance stagecraft.
  • Performance: Apply acting and singing practice to a short, devised musical presentation.

  • Please read our Cancellation and Transfer Policy.
  • Please ensure that you have given a valid email and mobile number as any course changes will be communicated via email or sms.
  • Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in for all drama and performance related courses. Clothing that restricts movement is inappropriate.
  • Please wear closed-in shoes. Shoes may be removed in the rehearsal room on the direction of the class tutor.
  • Participants must provide their own lunch, including snacks and drinks.
  • Children attending primary school grade equivalent holiday courses must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian.
  • NIDA staff will supervise students in courses for Grades 3–6 and Grades 7–10 in their breaks. These students will not be permitted to leave the advertised venue without parental permission.
  • If you are running late to collect your child, please call NIDA reception on 02 9697 7600. NIDA will only provide supervision during advertised course times.

The Concourse
409 Victoria Avenue, Chatswood NSW 2067

The car park entrance is on Ferguson Lane via Archer Street only.
The car park can only be accessed from the left lane of Archer Street. There is a luminous sign with number of available parking spaces at the intersection of Ferguson Lane and Archer Street.

Accessible parking spaces are available in The Concourse car park and in nearby Endeavour and Spring Streets.

Public Transport

The Concourse is located within a 2-minute walk from major Chatswood transportation hubs, including Chatswood train station and Chatswood Transport Interchange. Buses M40, 273 and 200 depart regularly from CBD locations and stop in front of the precinct.

Please meet your tutor at The Concourse Box Office, Located on Ground Floor ahead of class – they will then take students to the teaching space.
